Kena and Ziki want to experience adventure and true love, not a quiet life as obedient suburban wives. The relationship between the two young women is the warm, beating heart of this sparkling and colorful film. Director Wanuri Kahiu calls her filmmaking style 'Afrobubblegum', just like the production company she co-founded. In her own words, it stands for “cheerful, powerful and frivolous African art”.
