Film: Lingua Franca

An undocumented Filipino immigrant, paranoid about deportation, works as a caretaker for a Russian Jewish grandmother in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. When an American man she secretly pays to marry her for a residence permit pulls out, she becomes involved with a slaughterhouse worker who doesn't know she’s transgender.
