You may know Mark Knekelhuis from his label Knekelhuis or as part of hybrid analogue-punk act Volition Immanent alongside Parrish Smith. Knekelhuis is known for pushing the imperfect with a DIY ethos. In recent years his label has built up one of those stand-out catalogues, with contemporary bands like De Ambassade and re-releases from long forgotten rarities. Luke Cohlen is local oddball DJ by night, Stranded FM host by day. Cohlen will be the moderator of this listening session, which will be an exploration of the DIY music scene.
Stranded FM is an unique online radio platform from Utrecht that pushes local musical talent, stimulates creators and provides a hub for the many cultural institutes the city inhibits. Instead of making online radio, for LGW OFF, Stranded FM will focus on offline radio instead. This Saturday program in EKKO will consist of three listening sessions of 45 minutes, each with different guests and themes.
